Allied Health Careers "Allied
Health" is used to define a variety of health professions and covers as
many as 100 different occupations, exclusive of physicians, nurses, and a
handful of others. About two million allied health professionals work in the
United States and are involved with the delivery of health or related services.
They range from the identification, evaluation, and prevention of diseases and
disorders, to dietary and nutrition services, to rehabilitation and health
